"My Poupette's Guide to Buying Real designer bags Online" arrived today. Thank you so much. I am finding it very interesting. There is so much to learn. It has made me appreciate even more, the wonderful authentic pieces of Louis Vuitton bags that I already own. I didn't think I could love my purses more but you have shown me another way to see the beauty of the monogrammed canvas.

I didn't know how well LV plans the placement of their monogrammed canvas pieces. When you explained how the accessory pouch was designed, I studied mine and realized even more what a work of art it is! I never realized that all pouches are designed in such a fashion.

Do you have a favorite piece of designer bags? I have a hard time picking my favorite. The one I use the most is my large Montsouris Backpack, it is so comfortable and is like my best friend. My husband says it's really me. I had to take all my purses out today and appreciate them even more since you've given me a totally new perspective on the beauty of my designer bags bags. I can't thank you enough.

I thought after getting my latest piece of LV online, the Babylone, with leather lining, I had finally gotten all the designer bags I ever wanted. Now, I am not so sure. I don't know if I would buy anymore designer bags on eBay. I have bought six purses on eBay and all of them have been authentic. I am one of the fortunate ones I know. The anxiety is too much to take, not to mention our weak Canadian dollar and then duty. I think my next purse will be one directly from designer bags.

Once again thank you Angie for your wonderful guide. Your determination to hel prid the world of fake designer bags is an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work.

Have you heard the web site www.balenci.com? They have a big selection of designer bags. I received an email from 2 eBayers giving me some info about then. I suspect this is another scam, selling fake designer bags as genuine.   It's very unsafe for buyers out there. Anyway, any advice is greatly appreciated.

POUPETTE'S NOTE: Not only would Poupette never consider purchasing designer (or anything else) from this company, but I have reported them. I have received dozens of emails from visitors stating that this company has sold them fakes.

Subject: Web site for Fakes

Hi Angie,

You and your readers may have already heard of this web site--www.sacbelle.com. The fakes they offer are beautiful, in fact, I think I've seen the Damier Moyen Montsouris a few times on eBay. I say this because this item would be a designer Special Order for at least $200 over standard boutique retail. On eBay they sell for BIN $450-500. I have reported them to corporate LVMH. Hi, Angie. I got an e-mail from this seller offering me a Louis Vuitton item (see the e-mail below). When I asked how she can offer designer products at such a low price, she responded with the e-mail I pasted below her first e-mail (scroll down more). She said she gets it directly from the manufacturer. Yeah, right! I checked out her auctions and her auctions don't mention anything about authenticity, yet she says it here in her e-mail that they're authentic. She's selling quite a bit of designer stuff. Thought you might be interested to know about this one.

Subject: Isn't it sad?

Hi! I don't know if your web site mentions this or not but look at the tag hanging for the bag on eBay Item # 952774xxx . That is such a dead giveaway!! It's so fake but she has an authentic looking dust bag and people are totally buying into it! I feel so bad for them. I own that bag and the inside is brown. I wish there was something we could do to get rid of all the people like this! I'm sure they will never fully go away so it good that you are trying to educate people.Have a great weekend!

Hi Angie,

I was scoping the internet and noticed that these days....TONS of those ridiculous "wholesale lists" and I see people actually bidding and winning on eBay!!! I am mortified!!! I noticed that on your auction, you wrote the warning in BIG red print ...I want to warn people too. I have been warning people, but only if they email me with a question...

I think that all of your recommended sellers should list some kind of warning on their auctions too. We honest sellers MUST stick together!!! :)

Hello! I am an avid Louis fan! I think that you have got to be the most genuine person on the internet for volunteering your time and energy to maintain your beautiful web site...so many people appreciate it, especially beginners and new designer bag fans who want to learn more. Anyways, I am wondering how I may order/subscribe to LV's "Le Catalogue". I see them on eBay, of course nowadays you can see anything on eBay, all the time for sale. But how do I go about obtaining one of these for myself? Do they have them at the boutiques? There is a very small designer boutique in Minneapolis should I ask them if they have one? Thanks !

Subject: Fake Bags

Hi POUPETTE,

I am an eBay seller (and bidder) located in Australia. I, like you absolutely hate counterfeits and think they should be wiped off the planet. I am an avid lover of designer bags myself. I notice many items on eBay Australia on items that either are obviously unauthentic and the seller guarantees authenticity or items that look authentic but the seller has copied the pics off another auction. Often, the seller has zero feedback and has made the auction private. These bags/items go for quite a bit of money and often, I get e-mails from victims who send payment but never receive anything (I sell authentic designer items myself occasionally). 99% of the time, the seller has no feedback and people are so trusting.

The designer police on eBay (as they are sometimes called) do not seem to to "patrol" eBay Australia.

Is there anything I can do to stop people getting ripped off? I try to warn people where I can, but it's almost a full time job and sadly, many times I can't, due to private auctions.

NOTE FROM MY POUPETTE: We are of like mind. I report fakes every day and have dozens of emails to prove it.  At one point, eBay basically told me to leave them alone! So, I stopped reporting. Since then, eBay has asked that I continue to help then fight counterfeits.

One person at a time is all it takes. Thanks for taking time to care. As sellers, if we pool our resources, I truly believe we can make a difference.

I received your book and I've read it twice already. Kind of makes me want to pick it up anytime I think about it. I think it's a fantastic resource and must have for any designer addict. The details make all the difference, I agree, but, I've never had it broken down step by step. I don't know how I made it so long without it. I assume that I've had so many designer bags items that I've trained myself, from experience.
